| With 25 years in graphic arts, publications and typography, Pam Pickering has always been comfortable with Paper Collage, but in the 1980's she discovered an affinity for wire and assemblage. She put away her scissors and switched to wire cutters. Today, Pam uses multi-dimensional art to create fanciful visions, such as Mimes on The Half Shell, or pay homage to her favorite songs, childhood stories and intriguing characters. Octopus' Garden and Jack's House convey her amusement for one of the Beatles most popular songs and her artistic fascination with the animated movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas". According to Pam, there are cool items everywhere. She and her fiancé, Don, use that excuse to take to the road as often as they can, uncovering many unique beads and objects to incorporate into her wire art, or to save for numerous other art projects she has in the works. |

| Pam has a family-inherited affinity for copper, beads and assemblage, which blossomed while watching her sister, Susan Pickering Rothamel, a renowned artist create amazing enamels and incorporate them into her own assemblages. In addition, her brother, Jeff Pickering, designed stunning enamel beads. Not surprisingly, Don caught the bead-making bug and now has a few of his best in Pam's newest creations, Sound of Music and Belle Star. Pam sees a future full of exciting possibilities for wild and wonderful Sun Chimes and assemblage wire sculptures. |
